To Members and Friends of Friends of the Tay Watershed:
Following is an early notice of the showing of a film, which we are pleased to recommend - "Radiant City" - to take place at the Port Elmsley Drive-In, on Wednesday, August 1, at 7:30.
Film Night International, in co-operation with EcoPerth, REAL and Friends of the Tay Watershed, is again this year screening a mid-summer documentary at the drive-in. Last year An Inconvenient Truth was a great success with over 300 people attending.
This summer, on Wednesday, August 1 we will present Radiant City (Rated PG) which was named one of the top 10 Canadian films of 2006. This is an insightful, satirical look at life in the suburbs, the dominant form of community planning in North America for 50 years. For more details about the film you can check out its web site at www.radiantcitymovie.com .
Plan now to join us at the Port Elmsley drive-in (which is being renovated by new owners) on Wednesday, August 1. Box office opens at 7:30. Show begins at dusk (no short has been booked for that evening). Admission is $6.00 per person. Correct change would be much appreciated.
If you are concerned about any potential mosquito problem, here is the perfect solution. You can buy mosquito netting fairly inexpensively by the metre from a fabric store, or in packages in the camping section of a department store. Calculate the amount of fabric needed to cover car window(s). Come to the drive-in with fabric, a pair of scissors, and a roll of duct tape. Affix the fabric to the outside window frame(s) with duct tape. Then roll down windows, sit back in the fresh air and enjoy the show with not a single bug to bother you.
We are very close to having fall line-up finalized and hope to have schedules ready to hand out that evening.
As always, please feel free to forward this message to anyone you know who enjoys great films!
Hope to see you on August 1!
