To members and friends of Friends of the Tay Watershed:
This is to advise that the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Tay Watershed association has been set for Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007. The meeting will commence at 3:00pm, at the Perth Museum, located at 11 Gore Street E. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
As we advised in an earlier message, this year the AGM has been separated from our annual open house, which was held in November. This change will permit your Board to provide more focus on the reporting of your association’s activities in the past year – including, for example, the current state of our watershed and water-related legislation, and more complete reporting of our finances. We will also be presenting our proposed program of activities and budget for the coming year, and electing the Board of Directors for 2007. The Board will also table some minor changes to our by-laws, details of which are provided in the attached paper.
This meeting is open to the public, as well as association members. Members who have paid 2007 dues as of the date of the meeting may vote. New Memberships and renewals may be obtained by completing the attached membership form [if there is a possibility that your cheque will not be received by January 23, kindly advise us by e-mail or telephone – (613) 267 4939]. The annual fee is $10.00 for individuals and families.
Members who wish to vote but cannot attend the meeting may vote by proxy. To do so, members must provide their designated representative with a signed letter that (1) designates the representative, who must also be a paid member of the association, and (2) states the manner in which the member wishes to vote on a given question.
If you have any questions on the foregoing, do not hesitate to contact the Board by e-mail or letter at the addresses listed above or telephone (613-264 0094 or 264 0680).
We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend. Your presence not only shows support for the work of the Friends but also ensures that the direction of the organization truly reflects the wishes of the membership.
